This trip wasn't about my desire to get out and get after it. It was my friend's desire to celebrate her birthday with her close friends. And that we did! Out of respect for her privacy, and because not all stories need to be told, I will keep this post mainly visual and sprinkle a few climbing/cycling bits and pieces here and there. Hope you enjoy!

Ferry came to Rønne around 6 am and after waiting to be allowed to disembark, we headed out to Vang, a closed quarry once one of the most optimized stone production sites. Along the way we found a very cool and surprisingly Copenhagen-i bakery in a small town called Hasle. It was staffed by a couple from Argentina who spends their summers on Bornholm. Pastry quality would have you believe you're in a hipster bakery in a middle of Copenhagen. BMO's and pain au chocolat were bomber and they fueled our climbing and cycling efforts for the day.

After a long day of cycling, climbing and hanging out we made it to our Air BNB close to Tejn. Rib eye's and a massive salad was on the menu for dinner and a very deep and amazing night of sleep ensured we were fresh for the next day.

Slept in, had coffee, eggs and granola and headed to Allinge for some hiking. Basta pizza was excellent even tho their customer service kinda sucked - not sure why but guys were not very happy to be there that day. Ice cream and fixing a flat tyre was the dessert and then we headed to the quarry.

Amazing weather for climbing followed by rain showers made the rock wet and rendered our climbing efforts futile... We headed back to the airbnb, got some good food for dinner and prepped for the last day on the sunny island!

Some good climbing - 5c then a sketchy, first powerful then technical 6a+ called Super ute at the Laustvæggen. Had a pleasure to try Museumvagten, a beautiful 7c that was already set by a fellow Blocs climber named Lucas. He gave me a belay and some tips and I enjoyed challenging myself on something that difficult. A real beauty of a climb that I hope to be able to finish one day!

Of course we left at the last minute, to a great distress of my friend Sara who wanted to stay there foreveeeeer. We thankfully had headwind which made progress a bit slow and kept our average speeds lower than we would have liked. We made it to the ferry thinking we have about an hour to spare. As fate would have it, we were the last ones to board the ferry and made it just in time as we found out we were wrong and the ferry was scheduled to leave 30 minutes before we thought.

If you ever took one of these Kombardoo boat rides you know how chill and enjoyable they are. Five and a half hours give you just enough time to get a nap, eat out of their amazing cafeteria (seriously, great and cheap home cooked food - not so many protein options if you're plant based tho) and silently reflect on the trip you've just had. I know one thing for sure, I'll be back!
